Our Vision
EnergizeActon.org envisions a fossil fuel-free Acton, where all members of our community have equitable access to renewable energy, to healthy ecosystems, and to robust networks of resilience against the impacts of climate change.
Our Mission
EnergizeActon.org seeks to “energize” all sectors of the Acton community to quickly and measurably reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change, sharing best practices via presentations, home tours, coaching, peer sharing, local networking, social outreach, and tracking of carbon-reducing activities. Our aims are threefold.
- Help Acton households and businesses to reach net zero in heating, cooling, and transportation.
- Prioritize ecosystem needs alongside human needs; and
- Foster sustainable and climate resilient neighborhoods.
Our Beliefs
We believe that action at the household level matters. We believe that building community matters. We believe that networking within Acton makes us stronger as we face the effects of a warming climate. How does this happen?
- We get to know one another at events.
- We learn to listen respectfully to our various concerns and challenges.
- We problem-solve together through hands-on sharing, through coaching, and through honest data.
- We act to reduce our own carbon footprints and to support our neighbors on this journey.
- We take steps to create resilient mechanisms at home and resilient networks in our community.
